Our Commitment to Safety

Our local animal shelters and rescues need your support! Most are under funded while some receive no funding at all, relying solely on donations from the public. ATG values these organizations that work to improve the lives of homeless animals in Alabama. We have chosen to "give back" 1% of our total sales amount each month to participating local groups. For example $15,000 in sales = $150 donation to the shelter of our collective choosing.

ATG invites you to help us in determining who receives the donation each month. Simply cast a vote for your favorite group at the time of your purchase - either online or in person. At the end of each month ATG will tally the votes, publish the winner on our website and deliver them the check.

This program is completely voluntary, but by voting you get that good feeling of knowing you helped a homeless dog or cat just by shopping with Against The Grain.

  • Alabama Siberian Husky Rescue (ASHR)
  • Today's Treasures Rescue and Adoption

If you know of an Alabama 501(c)3 rescue or animal shelter that you would like to see included, please contact us.

Against The Grain Pet Nutrition is a company that does things differently. We are a small business that is excited about offering pet owners better choices in pet nutrition. We believe that choosing appropriate pet food (be it commercial, raw or home prepared) is the most important factor in any pet's preventative health, convalescence and longevity.  Our name - Against The Grain - reflects our strong passion to provide pet owners with the knowledge to make healthy decisions about pet care even if we go ‘against the grain' of popular thinking.
